A: From 7am to 5:30pm Monday - Friday

A: Yes! Cassandra Bushon is licensed for a small family child care, serving up to 8 children with the right ratio.
A: YES! To be licensed you have to have 15 hours of health and safety class, CPR and first aid certified. If you would like to take a class please see the Community Resources page. In addition to this basic requirement, I have also taken 12 units of Early Childhood Education as well as countless workshops and trainings. I am an active member and former Board member of the Sonoma County Child Care Association.
A: Sunflower Playschool serves breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack. If your child is here for the morning half of the day they will be served breakfast and a morning snack around 10am. If they are here for the afternoon they will get lunch and an afternoon snack. Q: Where do the children sleep? A: Most of the children sleep on mats in the living room, with the blinds shut, lights off and low music on. Infants may sleep in a crib in the office or in the living room depending on the group for the day as well as the infants nap schedule. Older children who no longer take naps will have a quiet time, do home work, read a book and color quietly in another room.
A: Of course! We believe that when a child is going through a transition they need consistency between child care and home. Let me know when you feel your child is ready and I would be happy to share with you tips and tricks as well as create an individual plan for your child. Q: Does Sunflower Playschool take subsidized programs? We will accept vouchers from PACEAPP, Professional Association for Childhood Education Alternative Payment Program. Unfortunately, we are not able to take vouchers from the 4C’s or Sonoma Works. Q: What should my child wear to child care? A: Please dress your children in comfortable clothing, something they can run around in and get messy. Your child most likely will get dirty, either from outdoor play or arts and crafts. We can never tell what the weather is going to be like in Sonoma County so please dress your child in layers. Q: What should we bring to child care? A: Each child has a cubby in the diaper changing area which holds their diapers, wipes, gloves and extra clothes therefore there is no need for a daily diaper bag. If your child is potty training we ask that you bring extra clothes. Q: What about baby wipes? A: We use baby wipes for everything. All parents are asked to bring in wipes here and there. This helps with winter time runny noses, a quick wash of the face or hands and of course diapers changes.
